Our History: Mayanja Memorial Hospital is named in honor of the late Martin Luther Mayanja, the father of the hospital's founder, Dr. Benon Mugerwa. Inspired by a commitment to serve humanity and improve healthcare standards in Uganda, Dr. Mugerwa established the hospital as a lasting tribute to his father's legacy of service and compassion. The first phase of the hospital was completed in November 2003, with an initial capacity of 100 beds. Since then, MMH has continued to grow and expand its services, becoming a trusted healthcare provider for thousands of patients across Western Uganda and beyond.
